Franny Vintage

Just across the street from the PLEDC office is a charming little vintage shop by the name of Franny. The store is tiny but brimming with affordable vintage finds, stylish Swedish denim and comfortable basics. Outside, you'll find that Franny's sandwich board consistently reads either funny or alluring. These traits and text can be accredited to store owner Kerry who is usually behind the counter updating her blog or Etsy store. I dropped into Franny Vintage to gab and get silly with Kerry.

Check out our interview below.

Stephanie: Tell us about Franny Vintage.

Kerry: I sell new and vintage clothing and accessories for men and women. Check out frannyvintage.com.

Stephanie: Where does the name Franny come from?

Kerry: Franny was my granny's name.

Stephanie: You seem like you have a lot of fun at work. What would you say is the best part of your job?

Kerry: Being your own boss. For example: beer breaks at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 o'clock.

Stephanie: Haha! What's happening at Franny these days?

Kerry: Well, in July Franny is collaborating with Philistine (philistinevintage.tumblr.com) to bring tons of new vintage items to the store.

Stephanie: What are your favorite places to eat, shop and hang out in the neighborhood?

Kerry: For breakfast I like to go to the Rustic Cosmo café. Have you had their bagels? The cowgirl is amazing.

Stephanie: No. What's on it?

Kerry: Bacon, avocado, tomato and heaven.

Stephanie: Yum. Okay, now where do you like to hang out?

Kerry: For coffee I go to Blondie's. For beer, The Rhino and Mezzrow's is great.

Stephanie: How about a funny, interesting or historic story that took place in Parkdale?

Kerry: Hmm, did you know this store used to be the original Bacchus Roti shop? …I don't know, everyday is a funny story in Parkdale.

Stephanie: If you could meet anyone living or dead who would it be?

Kerry: Your grandmother. Haha!

Stephanie: How about those Blue Jay?

Kerry: Yep…. *yawn*

Stephanie: Is there intelligent life in outer space?

Kerry: E.T. phone home!

Stephanie: What's on your to-do list for the rest of the day?

Kerry: Updating my blog and finding you a boyfriend.

Stephanie: Haha! Thanks Kerry.
