Call for Board members
JOB TITLE: Volunteer Board Member
COMMITMENT: One year term
DATE: April 2010
The Parkdale Liberty Economic Development Corporation is seeking Three (3) volunteers interested in joining our Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the fields directly related to the PLEDC mission and vision, including:
· A passion for building sustainable Economic Development projects and partnerships;
· Experience and contacts in the Arts & Cultural Sector; and
· An understanding of the Parkdale/Liberty community’s needs and desire to build community capacity.
As a board member of PLEDC, you will:
· Govern the affairs of the organization on behalf of its members and to do so reasonably, prudently and in good faith in accordance with the bylaws, rules and regulations that apply to the organization
· Establish or update the governing policies and procedures of the organization
· Be well informed about the activities and finances of the organization
· Hire and/or terminate the Executive Director
· Support the Executive Director who is responsible for the day to day management of the organization
· Participate in monthly board meetings
· Join one committee per year at minimum, and participate as needed
· Participate in fundraising and community events as a representative of the organization
· Be indemnified under PLEDC Officers & Directors Liability Insurance
We anticipate your participation will be approximately 5 hours per month.
