Recent Exhibitions, Work AND Education: “When I grow up, I want to be an artist.” Forgetting to take art in high school, Betsy was diverted into business (MBA 1984); and after acquiring her Adult Teaching Diploma (2005), she declared: “When I grow up, I want to be an artist – and an art teacher.” Not one to repeat a mistake, Betsy received her Fine Arts Diploma from the Toronto School of Art (2009). A novice exhibitor, (TSA's student shows and Eastern Front Gallery's Driven to Abstraction), Betsy has spent a devotional year in the studio creating, preparing, emerging – all grown up.
Artist Statement: Looking intently into a shaded garden or up and out to the heavens, my paintings depict the beauty, isolation and uniqueness to be found in a moment of life in the wild – the flutter of wings, the rustle of leaves or the call of the loon. These paintings cross over genres and mediums resulting in organic abstractions, intense realism or intriguing experiments; depicting magnified perspectives of flora and fauna, or a panorama of sea, sky and land. Seldom concerned with photographic representation, I freely create pieces from my imagination, or drastically modify images to portray a mood or emotion.
Recent Exhibitions, Work AND Education: I graduated with honours from the Sculpture/Installation program at OCAD in 2001. Since then I have been creating with vintagelove and showing at numerous Art and Craft events in Toronto and throughout BC.
Artist Statement: Stir up the nostalgia!
Vintagelove is a collection of vintage inspired light switch plates and magnets lovingly cooked up by Toronto artist Adrianne Kulling. Each plate is decoupaged using quality materials and coated with several layers of polyurethane for a super durable high gloss finish.

Artist Statement: My functional work seeks to develop the user’s tactile sense of the medium in a clean minimalist style. I use soft matt glazes and sometimes choose to leave part of the work unglazed. This gives the user a sense of what raw clay feels like in comparison to the glazed surface.
The decoration is made part of the form and is used in small quantities creating stark contrasts. Every piece is individually worked on making each one unique.

Artist Statement: Our mission at The Tima Collection is to create unique, beautiful and good quality jewelry. We create pieces made from natural earthy materials that carry on the ancient tradition of wearing jewelry for healing, protection, inspiration and assistance in times of transition and transformation. This is why our logo is Jewelry for the Soul.
Recent Exhibitions, Work AND Education: More than 20 years ago, I began designing/building commissioned pieces for Toronto theater companies. After 2 years in Visual Arts at YorkU, I switched to OCAD in search of a more studio based practice where I began working primarily in metal. While running the photo department at NOW Magazine for many years, I maintained a business designing, building and installing custom organic and functional metal pieces for commercial, retail and private clients. My last gallery show was at 64 Steps Gallery in 2005, showing large metal figurative sculptures. In April I showed at the One of a Kind Show.
Artist Statement: Through her company Lucky 7 Steel, Karen designs, builds and installs custom organic and functional metal pieces for commercial, retail, theatrical and private clients.
Fascinated by metal’s ability to be transformed into small and delicate forms as well as heavily structured and rigid pieces, her focus is on creating functional, well-designed and beautiful pieces that also have the potential to be subversive, ironic and infused with larger socio-political meaning. Her work combines traditional blacksmith practices with more modern techniques, using primarily scrap or mild steel. Currently exploring scrap metal/kinetic toys, she still combines metalwork with freelance photo editing
