I am a graduate of OCAD and have shared my imagination as a guest artist/instructor at Humberside Collegiate and as a volunteer at Home for Creative Opportunity Arts Studio.
Artist Statement: The curious people and creatures that inhabit my imagination rarely sit still. They urge me to let them out, to let them see what lies outside my whimsical daydreams. Inspired by people-watching, music and all the earth's magnificent creatures that dance and bounce around inside my thoughts ... until, finally, they come sliding out a paint brush soaked in water colours. there, caught in simple moments of wonder, with their emotive eyes they wait ... From those they meet they hope to elicit a quick flash of childish awe, a knowing grin or quiet giggle.

Artist Statement: Rosemarie is currently working on a series of paintings which depict rural life in Ontario. Her objective is to capture moments, places and memories of our rural heritage, which formed the foundation of our present communities.
Rosemarie is exploring the use of a limited palette while expressing the subject with movement and emotion. Paintings may excite your senses or calm your spirit. She works primarily with acrylic paints but has recently begun to apply oil paints in the final phase, a technique which leads to moving and textured canvases.
Recent Exhibitions, Work AND Education: John graduated from the Sheridan College Glass Program in 1999; after which he was a resident artist at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga until 2006. In 2002, some of his work was purchased by former US President Bill Clinton. The Royal Ontario Museum has also acquired one of his paperweights for their collection.
Recent Exhibitions, Work AND Education: Rare Birds Clothing is a collaboration between Carla Jacob and Carolyn White. Both are graduates of OCAD and have collective backgrounds in design, sculpture and photography. Sewing since childhood, we later began creating designs for our own children. After numerous requests from friends and family, we began designing our own line of girls' clothing. In 2008, our company, Rare Birds Clothing, took flight! At this point, we do a growing word-of-mouth trade through trunk shows and other shows in around Toronto. Our clothing is also offered online at rarebirdsclothing.com.
We successfully participated in the 2010 Spring One of a Kind Show & Sale to great response. Our work was featured in their ad campaign and print materials and generated much interest in our clothing line.
Artist Statement: "Classic, modern, designs all mixed up."
Our work features the creative pairing of vintage fabrics with bold contemporary prints that produce what we think are some very charming and unexpected combinations. We do all our work by hand to ensure the quality and craftsmanship we strive for is maintained in our clothing line. As each garment emerges, we look for originality, as well as practicality and comfort. It is always a joy and pleasure to see our clothing from conception to realization, especially on a child when it is in a much loved and well worn state.
