Artist Statement: I manipulate and paint paper, fibre and other materials then assemble them to create a textured and contoured surface ready to receive my paintbrush. Shape and texture dominate and colour is restricted. Thread serves dual purpose, holding together elements of my work as well as adding dimensional, gestural lines.
I am attempting to portray those thoughts and passions that dwell in the primal and nonverbal part of us, that elusive place where words are inadequate to express what we need to share.

I am a fashion designer by training, a graduate of Academie Canadiens in Ottawa. I fabricate one-of-a-kind fashion accessories, jewellery, scarves and shawls. I work with all natural materials and create original shapes and styles.
I continue to add new techniques to my work. This year my work focuses on advanced piercing, roller printing and surface treatment on metals. My designs are influenced by my interest in Ethnography jewellery and fashions.
This year, I completed a course in advanced casting at George Brown College, Continuing Education Program.
Artist Statement: I am happy to continue to provide my jewellery and accessories to my clients. My work continues to be successful.
I am making many new designs and working with new techniques. My most recent work will show piercing techniques on sterling silver, roller printing and different surface treatments on metals. I continue to add rare and unique old beads to completment my metal work. i also make fabricated chains in sterling silver. I keep my work fresh by making one-of-a-kind pieces.
I look forward to showing my work at QWAC again this year.

Artist Statement: I’m drawn to construct contemporary shamanic engravings using painterly methods and media in place of stone. This probably came from childhood visits to the petroglyphs - ancient carvings in limestone near my home: an expanse of rock amidst the forest, my fingers tracing hundreds of mysterious shapes.
Now, the petroglyphs are housed in a climate controlled building, viewed from an observation deck - a fundamentally different experience. I work to re-capture the intimacy of my early impressions.
I apply acrylic paints and mediums in significant textural layers to reference the incising, pecking, carving, and abrading techniques of the original indigenous artists.

Artist Statement: I design jewellery that reflects my own personal style. Because I believe personal style is constantly evolving, my designs are quite varied. Throughout the collection, the underlying elements remain: composed, confident, artistic and unique. I love jewellery when it is both beautiful and captivating but also quietly distinct or offbeat. I am inclined to use unique and unconventional materials, interesting mixes of color, or unexpected proportions.
Recent Exhibitions, Work AND Education: Deborah’s roots in jewelry design began in 1999 where she attended courses at George Brown College. Mentored by David Carrol it is evident that this collection of study has placed her in a league all of her own.
She embraces these pieces and shares them with her clientele. Phenomenal, rings bracelets, necklaces and earrings are amongst this collection. Choosing to display and sell her work at Public Art Markets allows her to share her passion keeping prices affordable.

Each treasure displays my spirited talent and my desire to recycle precious metals where ever possible as seen in my current collection “Life is a Journey” and “Every day I see my Dream”.
